Every January, Families USA, in conjunction with a wide range of national organizations, organizes a grassroots health advocacy conference in Washington, DC. It's a great place to learn and share strategies with other advocates around the country and to recharge for the year ahead.

Next year's conference, Health Action 2007, will be held January 25-27, 2007 at the Renaissance Mayflower Hotel. We are pleased to announce that the opening speaker is Sen. Barack Obama. Watch this space for more updates.
As you can see from looking at the summary of Health Action 2006, every year we have exciting speakers from Capitol Hill, the Administration, and national organizations, as well as over 30 workshops led by policy and advocacy experts. We also put together a conference Tool Kit that is jam-packed with useful information on children's health, Medicaid, Medicare, prescription drugs, the uninsured, and other issues. We hope you'll be able to join us next January! And, in case you missed Health Action 2006, you can see Webcasts and transcripts of select sessions (including speeches by Senators Debbie Stabenow and Richard Durbin, Representatives John Dingell and Artur Davis, and Governor Rod Blagojevich) on kaisernetwork.org, a free service of the Kaiser Family Foundation.
