Policy Updates

1. Appropriations 
Congress passed the 2009 budget and the president is expected to sign the $410 billion bill. The bill includes $30.3 billion for NIH (a 3.2% increase from FY 08) and $6.6 billion for CDC (a 3.8% increase from FY 08).
