Newsletter: Global Health Pipeline

In order to advance the fight for global health, we must invest in the research and development (R&D) of new medical tools to combat global infectious diseases like malaria, tuberculosis (TB), HIV/AIDS, and neglected tropical diseases. New diagnostics, treatments, and preventatives—including vaccines—are needed.

Through the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the structure is in place to conduct the research that will make medical advances a reality. But innovation takes time and money. If we are to make real progress, NIH and CDC need more funding for global health research.

Investing in Global Health Research . . .

  • Can Have Sizable Returns
  • Will Make Our Global Aid Efforts More Effective
  • Will Give Us Better Tools for the Future
  • Plays to Our Nation’s Strengths

To Improve Global Health through Research . . .

  • Government Should Lead the Way
  • We Need to Invest More
  • NIH and CDC Funding Are Critical
