Congress is considering making deep cuts in federal funding for Medicaid. Although it is not yet clear whether or how deeply Medicaid might be cut, one proposal, sponsored by Rep. Paul Ryan and passed by the House of Representatives, includes annual federal Medicaid cuts that range from roughly $13.75 billion (a 5% cut) to $90.75 billion (a 33% cut).
