HAVE YOU BEEN ASKED TO PAY FOR MEDICATION YOUR DOCTOR HAS ORDERED?

If you answered "yes" to this question, please read on to learn more about your rights.

  • Medical Assistance or General Assistance Medical Care members should not pay for any medication ordered by their doctor that is covered by (name of health plan).

  • If the pharmacy staff says the medication is not covered and asks you to pay, ask them to call your doctor. There may be another medication that will work as well and will be covered by (name of health plan). If the pharmacy staff won't call your doctor, you can.  You can also call (name of health plan) and we can help.

  • You have the right to appeal if you are asked to pay for your medication.  Call our Customer Services Department at XXXXXXX to appeal.
