Cleveland Rocks! April 13, 2004 Cleveland, OH Cleveland, Ohio, welcomed the Medicare Road Show with open arms this week. With nearly 250 seniors in attendance at HealthSpace, Cleveland's new building, this event was a rousing success! Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones (D-11) welcomed our guests and was joined on stage by Dee Mahan, Families USA's Deputy Director of Health Policy, and Belle Likover, member of the Advisory Council to the Ohio Department of Aging, Cuyahoga County and Chair of the Council on Older Persons in Northeast Ohio. The insightful comments, including a personal account from Likover, followed the showing of the Medicare Road Show video hosted by Walter Cronkite. After learning about the new Medicare prescription drug law, the crowd was riled up and ready to take action. The seniors were heard encouraging one another to start petitions and to call their members of Congress. Many also praised the work that Congresswoman Tubbs Jones has already done, and continues to do, on their behalf in Washington, D.C.
