Road Show Goes to Texas

San Antonio, TX  Nearly 200 seniors attended the Medicare Road Show in San Antonio on April 6 to learn about the new Medicare prescription drug law. “I can’t make any sense of it at all. I just want to know how seniors are going to be able to get the prescription drugs we need,” said Ruth Martinez, a local senior.
 Many local health care advocates attended the event hoping to gain some understanding of the 700-page law. “We want to learn as much as we can so we, too, can help educate seniors about the Medicare drug law,” said a local activist. 
Congressman Charlie Gonzalez and State Senator Van De Putte joined Ron Pollack in helping explain the law. The Walter Cronkite video was viewed with Spanish subtitles, and all materials were available in English and Spanish. [Return to top] |
