Governor Scott’s Approval of the Medicaid Expansion Will Be a Win-Win-Win for Florida

Florida Republican Governor Rick Scott announced today that Florida will expand Medicaid under the terms of the Affordable Care Act. The following is the statement of Ron Pollack, Executive Director of Families USA, about the governor's announcement:

"Governor Scott's decision to implement the Medicaid expansion is a win-win-win for the people of Florida. It will reduce the number of people who can't afford health care, it will increase the number of jobs throughout the state, and it will strengthen the state's economy.

"This is truly a hallelujah moment for working families throughout the state, and it augurs well for other Republican governors making the same decision for their states."
