Governor Christie’s Approval of the Medicaid Expansion Will Be a Win-Win-Win for New Jersey
New Jersey Republican Governor Chris Christie announced today that New Jersey will expand Medicaid under the terms of the Affordable Care Act. The following is the statement of Ron Pollack, Executive Director of Families USA, about the governor’s announcement: “Governor Christie’s decision to implement the Medicaid expansion is a win-win-win for the people of New Jersey. It will reduce the number of people who can’t afford health care, it will increase the number of jobs throughout the state, and it will strengthen the state’s economy.
“This is the second ‘hallelujah’ moment of the past week. With this decision, Governor Christie, like Governor Scott of Florida and six other Republican governors, has chosen to put the interests of his constituents above partisan politics.”
