New Affordable Care Act Website and Toll-Free Helpline Provide Helpful Information for America’s Health Care Consumers
New Resources Send a Reassuring Message to "Nervous Nellies" and a Blunt Rebuttal to "Obamacare Doomsayers" about Affordable Care Act’s Timely Implementation
Today, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) unveiled its upgraded HealthCare.gov website and toll-free helpline so that the public can prepare for health coverage enrollment through the Affordable Care Act. The following is the statement of Ron Pollack, Executive Director of Families USA, about this development:
“Today’s unveiling of the new website and the start of the toll-free helpline will provide helpful information and guidance to America’s health care consumers as they learn about the new opportunities available to them through the Affordable Care Act.
“These welcomed developments also send a reassuring message to 'Nervous Nellies,' as well as a blunt rebuttal to 'Obamacare Doomsayers,' showing that a real opportunity will exist for many millions of families to enroll in health coverage starting on October 1.
“The helpline will provide information 24/7 about the Affordable Care Act in a wide variety of languages. This will enable diverse families to learn how Obamacare will provide them with much-needed help.
“The provision of these helpful information resources more than three months before the first Obamacare enrollment period is another clear indication that the new benefits of the Affordable Care Act will become available on a timely basis.”
