Bush Adminstration Deliberately Withheld

The following is the statement of Ron Pollack, Executive Director of Families USA, about today's revelation that the Bush Administration withheld from Congress the accurate cost estimate of the Medicare law:

"Today's astonishing revelation that the Bush Administration purposely withheld crucial information about the costs of the new Medicare legislation provides an important lesson for America's seniors, namely: Beware of the Administration's false claims and hype about the new law.

"As seniors are slowly finding out, the new Medicare law does much more to help the Administration's friends in the pharmaceutical lobby than it does for seniors."
