Families USA and Public Citizen Lead 37 Organizations Representing Consumers, Patients, Providers, and Unions to Oppose the Ensuring Pathways to Innovative Cures (EPIC) Act of 2025

Families USA and Public Citizen led 37 organizations representing consumers, patients, providers, and unions in sending a clear message to health care committee leadership that the IRA’s Medicare Negotiation Program is critical and they should oppose proposed legislation that would further limit which drugs can be negotiated. There are a number of recently introduced proposals that would significantly limit the number of drugs eligible, such as the Ensuring Pathways to Innovative Cures (EPIC) Act of 2025, which lengthens the number of years a drug must be on the market before it is eligible for negotiation from 7 years to 11 years for small molecule drugs.
