Help Alabama Families Impacted by Diabetes: Expand CGM Access

09.27.2024

The burden of diabetes across the state of Alabama weighs heavily on communities and families. This webinar features insight from folks on-the-ground who have expertise in chronic disease management, and how expanded access to continuous glucose monitors (CGM) could help to improve the lives of Alabamians living with diabetes.

During the discussion, in-state experts spoke about the importance of education on chronic disease management, the role that CGMs can play in fighting the epidemic and the state of play for CGM coverage in Alabama and across neighboring southern states. Along with the other panelists, Families USA was joined by a licensed and certified professional midwife who shared her story of accessing a CGM when she was diagnosed with gestational diabetes.
